Kellogg Software Asset Manager in BATTLE CREEK, Michigan

We have an opening for you to grow with us as a Software Asset Manager in Battle Creek, MI or Oak Brook, IL. This role may also be virtual / location free.


  • Global Software Asset Management: This critical role will help to lead Kellogg’s Global Information Technology department’s Software Asset Management practice, to ensure our software deployments are optimized, and in compliance with Kellogg’s owned assets. The software asset manager will be responsible for the day-to-day core activities of the SAM function, including identifying compliance and cost reduction opportunities, and creating and executing action plans to achieve stated objectives or resolve discrepancies. You will help to support, and or initiate process improvements to support best practices in software and license management.

  • Provide impact assessments on pending or potential architectural changes, outlining incremental license or maintenance costs due to change and pinpointing any potential cost mitigation opportunities based on license use metrics or product use changes. Coordination of software vendor audit or license validation requests, in consultation with the relevant IT Strategy, Legal, vendor and procurement managers and other appointed delegates. Ensure that all software asset life cycle-related cost and risk is correctly identified, gather metrics and publish status reports, as well as enforce mitigation and remediation activity

  • Support Procurement Activities: Provides necessary data and input in support of procurement activities, including device, installation and usage data (or other license or subscription metric information), potential product metrics and options, and demand data needed to ensure accurate volume purchasing Develop quality assurance practices and practices for the administration of software license contracts, maintenance and entitlements



  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Proven experience in leading enterprise Software Asset Management, effectively working with large publisher licensing such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, SFDC and Adobe, for example.

  • Budget management experience

  • Software Contract management experience

  • Experience managing projects and resources / people

  • Ability to interact with various departments such as Legal, Compliance, Audit and internal stakeholders in Information Technology

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a matrixed environment

  • Ability to maintain and project calm in high pressure situations

  • ITAM or IAITAM, SAM certification or training

  • Powerpoint & Presentation skills

  • Snow Software experience
