In the role of Senior Engineering Manager, you will be a vital part of the Plant Leadership team for our Battle Creek manufacturing facility! You’ll provide technical expertise and management around capital projects, construction projects, facility maintenance, and much more. By driving our improvement culture with our Kellogg Work Systems model, you contribute to our growth and success.
Be part of history!! The Battle Creek plant was the first facility to manufacture the Corn Flake back in 1906 with 44 employees and was known as the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company.
HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Department Management – You’ll be a key ingredient to our success! You will be leading and directing continuous technical improvement of the facility, equipment and production systems. You will be ensuring effective execution of projects by meeting program objectives, project budgets and schedules. Collaboration is important with corporate engineering, contracted service partners, Plant Operations teams, and Quality teams.
Strategy & Scorecards – You will be partnering with Global Engineering to deploy corporate technical business strategies that align them with plant strategies and performance goals. You will be establishing and ensuring achievement of all function-specific Key Performance Indicators and Kellogg Work Systems continuous improvement efforts.
Budget Management – You will be committed to having an owner’s mindset in this role, and financial success plays a big part. You will be managing, preparing, and justifying expenses and capital budgets for the Engineering & Facilities department.
Energy 8 Leadership – You will be a leader for for the Grand Rapids 8 Team, responsible for delivering our 2020 Gas, Water, and Electricity reductions commitment.
Continuous Improvement – You will be part of the leadership team to deploy KWS strategic methods and lead initiatives within the Center of Excellence.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
High School Diploma/GED or International Equivalent, along with comprehensive engineering managerial and technical background in a related field or role
Excellent leadership qualities that align with facility standards
Project management, communication, budgeting, and excellent human relations skills
Demonstrated track record of safety
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or another technical related field
People management experience in a technical capacity
Knowledgeable in all state and appropriate utilities operations
Knowledgeable of union processes
Experience with Allen Bradley software
Food production experience
Working experience managing business partner relationships with corporate and plant location
