Kellogg Quality/Food Safety Lab Technician I - Off Shift in CARY, North Carolina

In this role as Quality/Food Safety Lab Technician I, you will engage your passion for food safety and quality initiatives. You will be responsible for providing support to Operations relating to quality and food safety on a 12 hour rotating shift, while ensuring alignment to all policies and practices in the Kellogg Food Safety Plan. Follow your nose in building collaborative relationships. We will need you to act as the Go-to-Resource for ensuring quality and food safety of the core products produced at the Cincinnati Bakery!

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Quality Control – You will provide on-shift guidance and supportfor all aspect of quality and food safety, including resolving orminimizing out-of-specification conditions, in-process and finishedproducts through observation, identification, notification, documentation,isolation, audit, disposition and inspection of all processes prior tostart-up.

  • Audit Ready & Safety Driven– You will be conductingplant food safety and security audits and continually looking for foodsafety hazards or places to improve the plant and process. You will alsobe maintaining various Food Safety (Sanitation, Quality, Pest Control, HACCP,GMPs, and SOPs) data, manuals, documents and files.

  • Cross-Functional Support – That’s where you come in. You will have theopportunity to interact with all levels of management at the facility, toinclude the Operations Manager(s) and his/her direct reports, Supervisorsand Production Employees to ensure adherence to established programs andpractices.Consider yourself partof a highly engaged team that supports an environment of learning andgrowth.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required:

  • High School diploma/GED withindustry experience

  • Experience in food safety, orquality assurance within a manufacturing environment

  • Strong verbal and writtencommunication skills to convey complex and detailed information

  • Demonstrated experience workingwith all levels of an organization

  • Intermediate computer literacyin Microsoft software applications

  • Able to work collaboratively ina fast-paced environment

  • This role will be an off-shift(2nd or 3rd)

Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor’s degree in atechnical or science field

  • Industry experience,specifically food manufacturing

  • Sanitation and pest control knowledge

  • Experience with SAP
