Kellogg Finance Specialist (Supply Chain) - GBS in GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan
In the role of Finance Specialist, you will be a key part of the Kellogg Company’s success! As a part of the great Kellogg community at our Global Business Services (GBS) location, you will support daily operations of Corporate, business unit and Record-to-Report (RTR) functions by generating financial models and performing moderately complex analysis. We are looking for you to have a mindset of innovation and improvement, as you constantly identify areas for improvement and standardization and will interact with internal Finance and business partners to help ensure that service level agreements (SLA’s) standards are met. You will lead with us, as you will take on management responsibility for a subset of the Plant Finance team in order to develop people management acumen. HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Budgeting / Forecasting / Execution – You’ll be accountable to follow a standardized approach to high-value activities (e.g. planning), performing financial analysis and Excel modeling. You’ll be responsible for budget/forecast generation and working with the business to review budget/forecast outputs. Bring your eye for detail and accuracy as you’ll monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance. You’ll be instrumental in identifying process improvement and standardization opportunities. Bring your passion for excellence as you’ll assist in generating budgets/forecasts and work to ensure adherence to controllable portions of budgets.
Direct Business Partnering – Hope you enjoy collaboration, as you’ll work across functional groups in gathering assumptions and data to be used in models. You’ll be relied upon to research and resolve business unit inquiries for assigned functional areas. You’ll use your strong communication skills to partner with business functions to track spend and monitor financial performance. You’ll also provide analytical and problem solving support for business partners and present findings and recommendations with supporting data. Partnering is the word as you’ll be the first point of contact, and relationship manager, for the business unit/function assigned.
Decision Support – Bring your analytical talent to develop financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives. You’ll be accountable to analyze medium to complex financial information and report to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes. You’ll be relied upon to explain deviations between actual vs. expected financial results. You will be taking on an owner’s mindset by independently analyzing proposed projects or initiatives to ascertain if they are financially justified. In addition, you’ll provide ad hoc support to identifying areas where we can standardize processes and develop better ones!
Leadership – Bring your talent to coach and develop others as you will be responsible to lead a team of finance professionals to ensure that overall delivery of services to North America business is within agreed upon KPI’s and SLA’s. Administrative & Personal Career Development – You’ll participate in functional and career development training to increase your knowledge and skills. YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and strong relevant work experience
Computer skills, including strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel
Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong related leadership experience
Experience with Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, Access and strong Excel skills
Proficient knowledge of ERP and other financial planning system (e.g. SAP)
Experience working in a plant/manufacturing environment preferred
