About the job
Do you an eye for a good story? Do you believe business can be a force for good? Are you a bit of a foodie? Then we’d love you to consider being part of the corporate affairs team at Kellogg’s
We’re looking for someone to help us tell the story of Kellogg’s, our values and the difference we are making to communities.
You’ll be someone who is comfortable picking through complex issues and navigating your way around the business to find news. Using your copywriting expertise and project management skills, you’ll help us tell our story to the media and our employees – whether that’s devising PR programmes and securing media coverage yourself, managing agencies, building campaigns to engage our employees or organising events.
An important part will be overseeing our in-house press office. We’re a household name attracting media interest and controversy, so it goes without saying you should feel comfortable dealing with high-calibre journalists.
The impact you could make
This role has plenty of runway to allow you to make your mark. That’s because we are a small bunch of hands-on people (we were fortunate to be shortlisted as in-house PR team of the year in the 2019 CIPR Excellence Awards). There aren’t loads of layers of managers and directors to work with, making it easy to get your ideas heard.
You’ll also get exposure to all aspects of communications – from crisis management and corporate storytelling to internal communications and brand PR, meaning you’ll have the opportunity to build skills in a broad range of disciplines.
The Kellogg’s difference
You probably know us for breakfast cereals. Perhaps you know we own Pringles too? But you might not know we are a values based organisation committed to playing a role tackling hunger.
Kellogg’s is the largest corporate funder of school breakfast clubs in the UK and we provide extensive support to feeding programmes, like food banks. We play an active role in the community across Manchester (the home of our UK head office) including work to address poverty and finding solutions to climate change.
We have a unique ownership structure too – our largest shareholder is a charitable foundation meaning a portion of our profits goes directly to help good causes across the world.
Our offer to you
This is an important role in the team with access to both senior journalists and business leaders, so don’t be fooled by the ‘assistant manager’ title. This is an opportunity to be visible, roll up your sleeves and make a difference.
We offer all the ‘big company’ perks you would expect including a highly competitive salary, flexitime, bonus, share save scheme, award-winning pension, time during work to volunteer and free breakfast cereal all day!
What else do I need to know?
Outstanding copywriting and content creation (including video on iPhone) skills are essential
