Our Research & Technology team provide technical product development knowledge and services to support the development of new product innovations or improvements to existing products. Our multi-disciplinary team includes Nutritionists, Product Developers, Projects Managers and Packaging Specialists

As a Product Developer you will manage a range of projects in the Breakfast & Snacks categories. This is a fast-paced environment; you will work across a diverse portfolio of product formats.

Thisis a maternity cover position; we’re looking for someone to start mid-November2018 – through until mid-January 2020.

Keyresponsibilities include:

  • Support thedevelopment and commercialisation of new product introductions, as well asproductivity and quality improvements of existing products

  • Developexperimental formulas, procedures and specifications for raw ingredients,sub-assemblies and finished products for new products and product renovation.

  • Prepareprototype products to the design brief and present to the business for review

  • Design, planand execute experiments for bench top, pilot plant and plant trials, gather andanalyse data, document, report results and make recommendations

  • Supportlabelling, nutritional, regulatory, quality and food safety efforts

  • Document allwork according to guidelines, and provide timely project reports to ensure goodcommunication of project status, progress, issues and timeline

  • Participatein food reviews and provide guidance to the team on descriptors

Skills,experience & attributes sought:

  • Degree inFood Science, Chemistry or related discipline

  • Strong trackrecord in similar role

  • Excellentworking knowledge and understanding of food chemistry, food processing and foodfunctionality

  • Strongproject management skills

  • Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills – you will be communicating with peopleat all levels of the business

  • Ability toeffectively influence others and get results through working with a diverseteam

  • Experiencein the use of Hamilton Grant as a recipe program is desirable
